10 putative isozyme gene loci were identified and used for measuring genetic diversity in three Azadirachta species. The average genetic distance between populations of A. indica var. siamensis was low (0.090). On the other hand, the three taxa were separated by a very high genetic distance. As expected cluster analysis showed strong genetic divergence among the investigated taxa. The results of our study confirm genetic distinctiveness of A. saimensis. However additional studies are needed for evaluation of the taxonomic status of this taxon.
