An experiment was conducted in broilers with three sweet potato leaves (SPL) levels (0 15 and 30 percent) in diets from 8 to 42 day in order to determine the optimal levels of SPL. The results of feeding trials showed that increased level of SPL in the diets significantly depressed the body weight gain, feed efficiency and income over feed. The depression in weight gains observed in birds fed on a diets containging 30 percent SPL was related largely to lowered feed intake arising from crude fiber and tannin content, lower digestibility of nutrients. The level of SPL in diets did not significantly influenced the dressing percentage in female broilers but significant decreased the dressing percentage in male broilers. The result of this study suggested that no more than 15 percent of SPL in broiler diet could be the optimum level.
