Two AC 322, 140 10 WP field trials were conducted in Kasetsart University farm, Kamphangsaen Campus and in a farmer field during July-December 1993. AC 322, 140 to WP herbicide treatments were applied using the 0, 4, 10 and 15 DAS (days after seeding) timing. Results suggest that AC 322, 140 at 4.8-9.6 g ai/rai (30-60 g ai/ha) applied at the 0-15 DAS timing gave excellent control of the annuals Sphenoclea zeylanica and Cyperus difformis. Using the 0 and 4 DAS timing, AC 322, 140 gave good suppression and/or good control of Echinochloa crusgalli and Leptochloa chinensis which was far superior to bensulfuron methyl at 4.8 g ai/rai (30 g ai/ha). AC 322, 140 at the rates tested showed very good crop selectivity. All treatments gave rice yield significantly higher than the untreated check.
