Studied of potato tuber moth (Phthorimaea operculella (Zeller)) life history, the generation time from egg to adult lasted for 24-39 days. Larval stage had 4 instars. The full grown larvae had 13 mm length. The adult had peak of flight activity during 20.00-22.00 hr. The adult migrated into potato field 1 month after planting and peaked in 2 and a half month. Then it moved into tomato fields nearby. In potato storage, the adult crowded from April and peaked during June to July. To control this insect, the plants substances such as rice husk, rice hull ash, saw dust and dried Lantana leaves gave good result. The promissing insecticides to control potato tuber moth were : carbaryl (Sevin 10 percent D) 100 g, carbosulfan (Posse 25 percent ST) 40 g dust per 1 kg of potato. The spraying 15 days or more interval on potato with carbaryl (Sevin 43.4 percent FL) 46 ml (0.1 percent a.i.), cabosulfan (Posse 20 percent EC) 100 ml (0.1 percent a.i.), pirimiphos-methyl (Actellic 50 percent EC) 40 ml (0.1 percent a.i.), etrimphos (Ekamat-50 50 percent EC) 60 ml (0.1 percent a.i.), fenvalerate (Sumicidin 20 percent EC) 50 ml (0.05 percent a.i.) per 20 litre of water showed good control.
