Reaction of some varieties of maize to downy mildew in 1994

Screening was made on response of Peronosclerospora sorghi to sixty-seven entries of maize, in late rainy season, 1994 at Nakhon Sawan Field Crop Research Center, Nakhon Sawan province. All investigated seeds were artificially inoculated with spore of the fungus. It could be concluded that the infection in the open-pollinated and hybrid group were 16.2 and 5.0 percent, respectively. Comparing with the standard variety Tien which susceptible to this downy mildew show the infection was 96.0 percent.
