Fish samples were obtained from anchovy purse seining daytime operated at the west of Yao Yai Island, Phang-Nga Bay during 22-23 May 1996 for identifying their isozymes patterns. It was done to young fishes: Sai mai and Hao Dang. Many kinds of Isozymes : PGI, PGM, ME, MDH and GOT were used for processing. It was found that GOT is the best to identify anchovies : Encrasicholina heteroloba and E. punctifer. From isozyme patterns, Sai mai of 2.9-3.3 cn SL were mostly composed of young stage fish of more than one species and some of them look like E. punctifer but Hao-dang of 3.0-3.5 cm SL mostly the young stage fish and they look like the pattern of E. heteroloba the same as adult group of 3.5-4.3 cm SL they seem to be E. heteroloba and for adult group also have morphology as if morphology of E. heteroloba. So in this paper are concluded that Sai mai and Hao dang are different but Hao dang and adult group they mostly seem to be E. heteroloba.
