This grass is very well known in Maroua, Cameroon. It has been here for many years though not known. It is used for Land benches marks. In farm land, it is used for the above as well as in plots and homes. It is used for roofing houses because termite cannot eat it. When a house is roofed with vetiver in Marcua, Cameroon it takes three to five years to be reroofed. Anyway very little is known about it by the natives here until 1993 when I brough it from Bamenda, Cameroon to plant here just to see more growing in this part of Cameroon.
