Evaluation of promising fungicides against die-back of mango stone grafts
1999
Raut, S.P. | Savant, N.V.(College of Agriculture, Maharashtra State (India). Agricultural Bacteriology Section)
Mango stone grafts heavily suffer damaged due to die-back disease caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides Penz. and Botryodiplodia theobromae Pat. and lead to enormous losses. The efficacy of four fungicides (Viz., Bordeaux mixture, Bavistin, Blitox, Difolatan) was tested against the C. gloeosporiodes and B. theobromae to study their effect on growth and sporulation under laboratory conditions. Among all the fungicides tested, the Bordeaux mixture at 0.5 and 0.1 percent as well as Bavistin (Carbendazim 50 W.P.) at 0.1 and 0.2 percent concentrations totally inhibited the growth as well as sporulation of both the pathogens.
