This experiement was conducted to study the productive performance and carcass quality of chicken by using dried baked Stemona herb root 0, 3, 6, 9 and 12 percents of basal feed in order to control house fly larvae in the chicken excrement. Three hundred and eighty of one day age Decarp male layers were used in the experiment. The chicks were domesticated in cages providing the feed (ad libitum) and drinking water all the time. The cage was 70*120*50 cm in width, length and height, respectively, and was lifted up 30 cm from the floor. A completely randomized design was designed with 5 different dried baked Stemona herb root levels which each group was comprised of 19 male layers with 4 replications. The data were collected when the layers were 10 days of age and the total experimental period was 21 days. The results showed that there were no significant difference (p GT 0.05) in average daily feed intake/head, average daily gain/head and average feed conversion ratio, but average feed cost/kg body weight gain was significantly different (p LT 0.05) with increasing dried baked Stemona herb root in diet. Furthermore, most of carcass quality was not significantly different (p GT 0.05), except, liver and kidney percentage (p LT 0.05) had increased with increasing dried baked Stemona herb root in diet.
