This experiment was conducted to study the utilization of Stemona herb root to control the development of house fly larvae in chicken excrement. Experiment 1, the number, size, and weight of house fly larvae were recorded from the excrement of 10, 17, 24 and 31 days old chickens. These chicken fed with dried baked Stemona herb root 0, 3, 6, 9 and 12 percent in diets, respectively. Experiment 2, the excrements, collected from chickens fed without Stemona herb root diet at 40-50 days of chicken age, mixed with fresh and dried Stemona herb root for 0, 3, 6, 9 and 12 percents (air dry basis). A completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 replications was designed in this study. The number, size and weight of house fly larvae, brown pupa, black pupa and adult were recorded. The results showed that the number, size and weight of house fly larvae from the chicken excrement, fed with the diet containing Stemona herb roots decreased with the increasing of the Stemona herb roots in diet (P LT 0.05). Brown pupa, black pupa and adult of house fly could be controlled by using more than 3 percent of fresh Stemona herb root and more than 9 percent of dried Stemona herb root in mixing ratio. Fresh Stemona herb root had better toxicity to control the house fly larvae development than dried Stemona herb root.
