Study of protection immunity of fowl cholera-duck plague combined vaccine against duck plague virus in Kaki-Cambell-native hybrid ducklings

One hundred fourty Kaki-cambell-native hybrid ducklings, aged 45 days, were allocated into 14 groups and each group contained 10 ducklings. They were all vaccinated with 1 ml of fowl cholera-duck plague combined freeze-dried vaccine (50 doses per bottle) intramuscularly. After that at day 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14 day post vaccination, they were challenged with 10**(5) DLD50 per dose of field virulent duck plague virus, respectively. Protection rates to challenged virus were 0, 0, 40, 100, 100, 100, 100, 100, 100, 100, 100, 100, 100 and 100 percent respectively. The results obtained demonstrate that immunizing ducks with combined vaccine were effective 100 percent protection against duck plague virus after the 4th post vaccination day.
