Follow-up study of Pathum Thani Campus Project on occupational development in rural areas

Objectives of this follow-up research were threefold. (1) To study general backgrounds of 128 trainees who participated in the training program on occupational development in rual areas organized by Pathum Thani Campus, Rajamangala Institute of Technology. The topics involved their educational background, employment, number of family members, membership status in a particular farmer group, farm area holding, and capital sources on farming. (2) To analyse their understanding, knowledge and skills that they obtained from the training including their attitudes to the project. (3) To use the information from the study as a guideline to develop future training programs of the Campus. Then statistical techniques of frequency, percentage and average value were used to analyse the data received. The results showed that all trainees from various course gained s high level of knowledge and skills and could successfully bring them into real practice in their occupations (average value = 3.48, max = 3.89, min = 2.81). They also had good attitudes to the training project (average value = 3.08), and 76.56 percent of them wanted to participate in any other further training projects offered by Pathum Thani Campus.
