In June 1984, a flock of 176 goats from Amphoe Mae Sot had been brought to Lumpang. After one month, some of them showed symptoms of high fever 103 - 105 deg. Fahrenheit, weakness, dry muzzle, nasal discharge, diarrhea, emaciation, skin lesion and died in 2-3 days. Thirty eight goats died. Post mortem lesions of 3 goats revealed the edema of G.I. tract, hearts, kidneys, and jaws. Internal parasites were detected in their G.I. tracts and caseous masses were found in their lungs. The organs were examined by means of laboratory techniques. Pasteurella multocida were cultured from lungs and hearts. Many parasites i.e. Trichuris spp., Haemonchus spp., Oesophagostomum spp., Monezia expansa, Rumen fluke and Coccidia were found in G.I. tracts and identified. Moreover, Rhipicephalus spp. (brown ear tick) were also found in their ears.
