Effects of different prunus rootstocks on bud-take and growth of some apricot cultivars

This study was conducted at Ataturk Central Horticultural Research Institute between the years of 1994 and 1997 to determine the effects of rootstocks on bud-take and, growth of 2 dried (Kabaasi, Hacihaliloglu) and 5 table apricot cultivars (Aprikoz, Karacabey, Beliana, Rouge du Roussillon, Joubert Foulon) grafted on 2 seedlings (apricot and Nemaguard) and 3 clonal Prunus rootstocks (Myrobalan GF-31, Kayisi Erigi and Pixy) at early stage of growth. The effect of rootstocks was apricot seedling, followed by Kayisi Erigi, Myrobalan GF-31, and Nemaguard respectively. The effect of Pixy on growth as rootstock was found to be weak
