A tomato breeding program aiming at covering the need of tomato seed of Turkey and improving new tomato varieties having commercial value has been conducted in Citrus and Greenhouse Crops Research Institute. In this program, a new commercial varieties called Simge was thrown on the market. The identifications of DNA fingerprints of pure lines and new hybrid varieties are very important in this program having a wide tomato gene source in regard of both the protection of gene sources and the ownership of a variety license laws
