The land use mapping of the Uludag University Campus Area using remote sensing and GIS techniques

The main objectives of the study were to produce land use map of the U. U. Gorukle Campus Area using remote sensing and GIS techniques and to introduce recent advances in remote sensing and GIS techniques at the land use mapping works. GIS and image processing system ILWIS 3.1 Academic and ERDAS Imagine 8.3.1 image processing software were used in this study. Landsat-5 TM remotely sensed data in 1998, aerial photographs in 1997 and topographical maps were used for the application. All the necessary data were stored into the computer using by the scanner, digitizer and cd-rom. Geometric correction, image enhancement, mosaicing and resolution merge procedures were applied for the easy comparision, axact image on map and aerial photographs overlay and better visual interpretation.
