English. Wild plant forms and local village cultivars in any country are necessary genetic materials in order to improving traits of present culture plants or developing new cultivars. Sustainibility in plant production, only will be provided with the preservation of these materials. Because of this reason, preservation of these sources of our country which has rich genetic diversity is a necessity for sustainable agriculture and life. Pea is important genus in the grain legumes.Samsun ecological conditions is suitable to grown pea. This study was conducted in research area of Agriculture Faculty, Samsun, during the 2004 -2005 to determine some agronomic characters and characterization of local pea genotypes. Part of the experiment materials were collected from different regions of Samsun by ourselves. And other materials were sent from Gene Bank of Eagean Agricultural Research Instıtute.

Bir ülkenin sahip olduğu yabani bitki türleri ve yerel köy çeşitleri mevcut kültür bitkilerinin özelliklerinin iyileştirilmesinde veya yeni çeşitlerin geliştirilmesinde gerekli genetik materyallerdir. Bitkisel üretimde devamlılık ancak bu materyallerin korunmasıyla mümkün olacaktır. Bu nedenle zengin bir çeşitliliğe sahip olan ülkemizin bu kaynakların koruması sürdürülebilir tarım ve yaşam için mutlak gerekliliktir. Bezelye önemli bir yemeklik tane baklagil bitkisidir. Karadeniz Bölgesi ekolojisi bezelye yetiştiriciliği için oldukça uygundur. Bu çalışma 2004-2005 yetiştirme döneminde bezelye yerel genotiplerinin tanımlanması ve bazı agronomik özelliklerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi deneme arazisinde kurulmuştur. Deneme materyalleri Ege Tarımsal Araştırma Enstitüsü Bitki Gen Bankasında saklanan ve Samsun' un farklı ilçelerinden kendimizin bizzat topladığı genotiplerden oluşmaktadır.
