Determination of genetic diversity of some local and exotic common bean genotypes using IPBS retrotransposons
2017
Aydın, M.F.
In this study, total 96 bean genotypes including 79 common bean Landraces, 5 commercial cultivars and 12 bean genotypes provided by USDA, were used as plant material for genetic diversity assessment using iPBS retrotransposon molecular marker. In this study, when primers are examined in terms of polymorphism percentage, it was revealed that the proportions of polymorphism changes from 33,3% to 90% and the lowest polymorphism (33,3%) was found in iPBS retrotransposons '2381'primers while the highest polymorphism (90%) was seen in iPBS retrotransposons '2075' primers. When the Polymorphism Information Content (PIC) values are taken into account, the lowest polymorphism value was 0,65 in 2075 iPBS primer while the highest polymorphism of 0,93 was observed in iPBS 2381 primer followed by 0,90 and 0,88 for iPBS 2382 and iPBS 2373 primers respectively. This study includes important data to select genetically different parents in cultivation program. These data forms the first step for cultivation.
