Effect of vitamin (myo-inositol) added medium on some biochemical composition of Nannochloropsis oculata and Porphyridium cruentum

In this thesis, myo-inositol effect on Nannochloropsis oculata and Porphyridium cruentum cultures and its effect on chlorophyll a and carotene amounts of Nannochloropsis oculata were examined. Experimental cultures prepared with 2 different concentrations of myoinositol addition and were compared with the control group. Initial cell densities of Nannochloropsis oculata were arranged as 25±0,000 x 106 cell/mL. Control group was reached its highest cell density at the day 19 as 71±2,000 x 106 cell/mL. 100 mg/L myo-inositol added group was reached its highest cell density as 101±2,646 x 106 cell/mL at 19th day while 500 mg/L myo-inositol added group was reached its highest cell density as 91±2,517 x 106 cell/mL at the day 20. Mean chlorophyll a amounts of 100 mg/L myo-inositol, 500 mg/L myo-inositol and control group were measured as 0,052±0,0025 pg/cell, 0,052±0,0035 pg/cell and 0,053±0,0036 pg/cell, respectively. Mean carotene amounts of 100 mg/L myo-inositol, 500 mg/L myoinositol and control group were measured as 0,016±0,0008 pg/cell, 0,016±0,0012 pg/cell and 0,016±0,0012 pg/cell, respectively. Porphyridium cruentum experimental cultures were started with 11±0,000 x 105 cell/mL initial densities. Control group was reached its highest density at the day 11 as 101,5±4,5 x 105 cell/mL. 100 mg/L and 500 mg/L experimental groups were reached to highest densities at 11th day as 113±5,4 x 105 cell/mL and 129,5±12,8 x 105 cell/mL, respectively.
