Job accidents and occupational diseases analysis in ssi hospital records: Private sector employee example

Within the scope of this thesis, it is aimed to reveal the cost to individual, public hospitals and the public, of private sector workers (data free from personal information) who get benefit from SGK hospital in Düzce and Bolu Provinces and come to hospital with occupational accident and occupational illness. To achieve this aim, it was revealed which complaints individuals came to public hospitals with, which treatments were applied and what kind of cost occurred after these treatments. As a result of these key findings obtained, cost of benefiting from public hospitals (to the individual and the public hospital), cost for individual and business of the individual (such as incapacity cost, cost of ), cost for the public were revealed. In consequence of the calculations, it was found that 66,2% of patients who came to Düzce KHBH because of occupational accident were between 21-30 years old, time the patient spent before examination was between 1-5 minutes at the rate of 63,1%, total amount of time the patient spent in hospital was less than 10 minutes at the rate of 57,5%, and the reason of occupational accident was 56,1% of hand-arm injury, 29,4% foot-leg injury. "Falling" at the rate of 36,9%, "load falling on" at the rate of 32,7% and "bumping- crashing" at the rate of 22,2% was indicated as the incident causing occupational accident. 29% of patients who came to Düzce KHB for occupational accident made the occupational accident between 10:00-12:00, 18,2% of them between 14:00-16:00, 16,1% of them between 08:00-10:00 and 15,2% of them between 12:00-14:00. It was seen that polyclinic cost to SGK of 79,5% of the patients in Düzce province was 100 TL and less. It is seen that 56,1% of patients who came to Düzce KHBH for occupational illnesses were 36 and above years old. It is seen that time the patients spent in the hospital before examination was between 1 and 2 hours at the rate of 47,4%, total amount of time the patient spent in the hospital was more than 3 hours. It was seen that the patients admitted because of occupational illnesses worked in housework sector at the rate of 35,1%, textile sector at the rate of 15,8%, construction sector at the rate of 12,3%, wood work sector at the rate of 8,8%. Patients who came to Bolu KHBH because of occupational accident was 36 and above years old at the rate of 38,2%, reason of occupational accident was hand-arm injury at the rate of 47,1%, foot-leg injury at the rate of 39,6%. It was seen that polyclinic cost to SGK of patients in Bolu province was 50 TL and less at the rate of 61,6%. 33,9% of patients who consulted because of occupational accident in Bolu province received 2-3 days of report.
