In this research work, the growth rates of yellow pine and spruce young plants which were cultivated at high altitudes have been studied over a period of 10 years as part of the Galyan Forestation Project. In 2006 and 2007, the Ministry of Forest and Water Management arbitrarily determined nine and four testing sub-areas within the main area where it cultivates yellow pine (Pinus sylvestris L) and eastern spruce (Picea orientalis L) as part of its annual cultivation program. In 2010 and 2011, certain remarks were concluded regarding the growth status of yellow pine and spruce at high altitudes by performing measurements on the young plants. A discussion regarding the 10-year growth rate was provided about the forestation for high mountains by performing observations and measurements in 2016. This work concludes that the the eastern spruce experienced a more healthy development process in contrast to yellow pine which experienced the growth problems including upper with eredness and branching. Based on these results, it was proposed that the cultivation process for the high mountain areas should be designed more elaborately.
