The Ph.D. thesis entitled "Interaction of Growth and Reproduction Characteristics in Carob Tree (Ceratonia siliqua L.) Populations in Mersin District" was carried out based on reproductive (size, weight and production of fruit and seed), growth (height, diameter at base, crown diameter and age) characteristics and altitudinal to contribute for silvicultural and genetic-breeding practices of the species. In this context, the data collected from three natural populations (Tarsus, Erdemli ve Silifke), 50 trees sampled each population in two consecutive years (2013 & 2014) was analyzed statically.Large differences supported by results of analysis of variance were found among populations and within populations, and also between years for reproductive and growth characteristics. Averages of reproductive characteristics were higher in first year than that of second year. For instance, weight of fruit was between9.75 kg and 59.97 kg in Tarsus population in first year, while it was between 8.12 kg and 65.21 at the same population for second year. Weights of fruit were 3.93 kg and 2.25 kg in polled populations for first and second year, respectively. The fertility variations were the lowest (1.148) for number of fruit in Tarsus population for first year, it was the highest (1.891) in Silifke population for number of seed for second year. Effective number of parents was the highest for Tarsus population for both years (80%, 70%). The relations among the characters changed for the years and characters. However, it could be said that number and weight of fruit and seed had more under control of growth characteristics.
