Determination of growth and reproduction properties of freshwater crayfish (Astacus leptodactylus, Eschscholtz, 1823) in Egirdir Lake-Turkey
2015
Kaya, M.A.
The study was carried out to calculate properties of reproduction and growth of crayfish (Astacus leptodactylus, Eschscholtz,1823) between June 2013 – June 2014 in Eğirdir Lake. Length, weight, and sex composition, length-weigth relationship, moulting period, mating season, eggs efficiency, hatching period were determined. 3008 crayfish has been trapped during research, 2456 of them were evaluated. Male/female ratio was calculated as 0.75/1.00. Average length and weight were found as 106,31 mm and 40,33 g. Length-weight relationship formula and regression coefficient was calculated as Log W = -4,9856 + 3,2327xLog TL and r2=0,9706, respectively. Moulting period of crayfish was observed between May and November. Crayfish mated in November and spawning at 20 December and started to hatch on 5 June. Average egg number and egg diameter were calculated as 309,7 and 2,53 mm. Maturity length was observed for 74 mm for males, 77 mm for females.
