This study was performed between May and December 2013 for determination of the most reliable bone tissue to estimate the age of carps.In the study, 78 individuals were used for the determination of ages, weights and fork lengths between 1 and 11, 191 and 8685g and 19.5 and 76 cm, respectively.In the age determination, scales, vertebra and otoliths were used and samples were analysed for five-times.In accordance with the highest propotion (10.67%), the lowest standart deviation (2.20) and components of variance (4.87) among the bony structures the most reliable bony tissue were found to be otolith.
