Development of measurement system for grain loss of some chickpea varieties
2014
Sagiroglu, H.C.
In this study, a measurement method was developed to determine the grain loss of Grain loss is the most significant problems encountered with during the harvest operation. Besides the scientific researches for increasing chickpea production, it is necessary to rebound the production in to economy in a short time with a minimum loss. In Turkey, a large quantity of the especially during the harvest by the combine harvester, falls into the field grain. some chickpea varieties. With in this system, the grain loss for the Hisar, YaĢa-5, Azkan and IĢık-5, which are the widely producedchickpea types in Turkey, was determined and the precision of the method was tested. This study consists of two stages. The first stage includes, designing and developing a laboratory type measurement method using sensor and software. In the second stage; the precision of the method was tested for Hisar, YaĢa-05,Azkan and IĢık-5 chickpeak types in 3 different humidity level and 5 different feed rate (10 gr. chickpea 30 gr. stem mixture, 20 gr. chickpea 60 gr. stem mixture, 30 gr. chickpea 90 gr. stem mixture, 40 gr. chickpea 120 gr. stem mixture, 50 gr. chickpea 150 gr. stem mixture). Based on results, it was observed that incre one in mixture ratio caused decreaze in the threshold value defired accordy to chickpea impact value. The precision of the method was determined as 90 percent for all threshold values defined according to the chickpea impact value among all chickpea types and mixture ratios. Additionlly, it was defined that the change in the humidity level is an accelerant for the thereshold value defined according to the chickpea impact value.
