English. The mealbugs fauna in Uruguay was surveyed using systematic sampling on several vegetable, fruit and ornamental crops. Nine of the species recorded were already known; through the present study the number of known species was raised to 16, among the Dysmicoccus brevipes (Cockerell), Dysmicoccus sp., Planococcus minor (Maskell), Phenacoccus parvus Morrison, Pseudococcus affinis (Maskell), Pseudococcus sp. aff. elisae and Pseudococcus sp. aff. sociabilis. A brief review of main species and a list of host plants on which these were found is also given
Show more [+] Less [-]Spanish; Castilian. La fauna de pseudocóccidos de Uruguay fue relevada mediante muestreos sistemáticos sobre diversos cultivos: fruti-hortícolas y ornamentales. Se reconocían nueve especies, mediante el presente estudio se elevó a 16 las especies conocidas, entre los que figuran Dysmicoccus brevipes (Cockerell), Dysmicoccus sp., Planococcus minor (Maskell), Phenacoccus par.vus Morrison, Pseudococcus affinis (Maskell), Pseudococcus sp. próximo a elisae y Pseudococcus sp. próximo a sociabilis. Se brinda una breve reseña de las principales especies y una lista de las plantas hospederas sobre las cuales fueron encontradas.
