The susceptibility of different sunflower hybrids to Diaporthe helianthi, based on field inoculations
1989
Csengeri, P. (Novenyolaj- es Mososzeripari Kutatointezet, Budapest (Hungary))
Different sunflower hybrids were inoculated in small plot experiments with the fungus Diaporthe helianthi. Based on the intensity of the infection the hybrid NSH-45 proved to be significantly less susceptible than the other 13 tested hybrids, all of them participating in practical sunflower production. Both the results of the inoculations and the production (yield) data suggest that in the endangered areas with a heavy Diaporthe infection pressure the NSH-45 Yugoslavian hybrid should be grown.
