Contrary to complex plant protection technologies in viticulture of the seventies, during the last years other aspects have come to the front, such as: the restriction of environmental pollution, the maintenance of biodiversity, and economic efficiency. This necessitated the determination of swarming, dangerous number, and dates of the appearance of the different stages of development of the vine moth and the grape berry moth. The second generation has to be controlled, even when it is not so numerous, using insect growth regulators, chitin synthesis inhibitors, and Bacillus thuringiensis preparates. To their effective application, the exact determination of the biological terms is necessary
