F.moniliforme and F. proliferatum isolates produced fumonisins on the solid substrate, i.e. rice grains, in the dark at 25 C for four weeks. To study these fumonisins (B1,B2,B3,B4), we developed a quick and efficient two-step reversed phase OPLC method in which the first step served for cleaning the mycotoxin extracts.Experiments were carried out using the personal OPLC instrument and fumonisins produeced by six strains of F.moniliforme and F.proliferatum were analysed. Results showed that one isolte of F.moniliforme and one isolate of F.proliferatum produced all the fumonisins (B1,B2,B3,B4) investigated, whereas the other isolates did not produce any of them. The method described offers a quick and efficient separation of fumonisins of B series.
