Induced spawning of yellow mystus (Mystus nemurus VAL.) using suprefact with domperidone
2008
Srisongkhram, Y., Thai Students Association
This study was conducted to induce spawning of yellow mystus using varying dosages of suprefact plus 10 mg domperidone per kilogram body weight. The treatments with three replicates in completely randomized design (CRD) were: Treatment 1 (10 æg Suprefact), Treatment 2 (15 æg Suprefact), Treatment 3 (20 æg Suprefact), Treatment 4 (25 æg Suprefact) and Treatment 5 (30 æg Suprefact). Spawning was observed in all treatments. Increasing the dosage of suprefact increased the number of eggs produced. Suprefact at 19.3 æg/kg body weight gave the optimum return for this induced spawning operation. The result showed that Treatment 3 gave the highest rate in induced spawning, fertilization rate, hatching rate and survival rate. No significant differences in the induced spwning, number of eggs, fertilization rate and hatching rate in the various treatments were observed.
