Forty-two crossbred rabbits reared at a constant temperature (30 degrees C) were divided at weaning in two groups. The first group remained at 30 degrees C and the second was housed in a conventional building with an average temperature of 20 degrees C. The rabbits were kept until they were 280 days old, when they were slaughtered. Liveweight of the animals at high temperatue was very low throughout the experiment.
