The effect of fertilizer grades on growth, yield and quality and yield of rambulan cv. Rongrian (Nephelium Lappaceum L.) was investigated at the Chanthaburi Rubber Station, Chanthaburi, Thailand during 1985-1994. There were.five fertilizer grades (10-10-10, 1010-20, 10-20-10, 20-10-10 and 20-20-10) and a no-fertilizer as a check. A city compost was applied at the same quantity to every treatment as a supply of organic fertilizer. Results indicated that the effect of fertilizers on height and girth size of rambutan were statistically different only in the juvenile period. At the fruiting stage, three fertilizer grades; 20-10-10, 10-10-20, 10-20-10 produced better growth and yield. It was observed that the 10-10-20 promoted the highest total soluble solid and maximum aril thickness. The 20-20-10 and 10-10-20 produced maximum fruit size and aril weight. Long term application of fertilizers resulted in high accumulation of extractable soil phosphorus and potassium within the canopy area.
