Effect of Zeolite in the preventionof the malabsorbtion syndrome | Efecto de la Zeolita en la prevención del síndrome de mala absorción

Spanish; Castilian. .Con el objetivo de comprobar el efecto de la zeolita en el sindrome de mala absorci6n se utilizaron 156pollos de engorde presuntamente contaminados, sin sexar con seis tratamientos y seis replicas distribuidos en un diseno completamente aleatorizado. Se emplearon dos tipos de zeolita procedentes de yacimientos diferentes (Bueycito y Tasajera) y se organizaron para cada uno tres niveles de inclusión: 5, 6 Y7 %y un control sin zeolita. La raci6n se suministroen los periodos de inicio y finalizar (desde 1 hasta los 47 dias). No se hallo efecto favorable al evaluar la necrosis femoral en los grupos tratados con zeolita, manifestandose altos por cientos de afecciones uni y bilaterales en todos los grupos, los pollos de los grupos que consumieron zeolita exhibian mejorias de la necrosis femoral. Se concluyó que esos dos tipos de zeolita no previenen el S.M.A en la forma de necrosis, femoral. mejorando solo ligeramente la gravedad de la lesion.

In order to verify the effete of zeolite on the molaabsorbtion syndrome, 156 broilers, unisexed, presumtively contomlnated, with six treotments and six replicates, distributed in a completely randomized design, were used. Two types of zeolite from different beds (Bueycito and Tasajera) were used, and for each of them three inclusion levels: 5,6 and 7%, were organized and one control without zeolite. The ration was supplied at the starting and finishing periods (from 1 to 47 days). No favorable effect was found on evaluating the femoral necrosis in the groups treated with zeolite, high percentages of unilateral and biloteral affections being shown in all the groups. The chickens of the groups wich consumed zeolite showe improvements of femoral necrosis. It was concluded that those types of zeolite do not prevent the M. A. S. in the form of femoral necrosis, Improving only lightly the gravity of the lesion.
