Current occurrence and geographical distribution of Heterodera avenae Wollenweber 1924 in the Slovak Republic

The occurrence and distribution of Heterodera avenae in the cereal growing areas of the Slovak Republic was studied during the years 2003 and 2004. In total, 188 soil samples from 27 districts throughout the country were analysed. Heterodera avenae was present in 56.4% of the samples, the incidence was 2-81 cysts in 100 g soil. The incidence of the parasite was low in 87 localities, medium in 15 localities, and high in 4 localities.
