Grain yields and flour technological quality were studied in six winter wheat varieties (Ebi, Ludwig, Nela, Semper, Sulamit, Vlasta) cultivated in four different Czech localities between the years 1999 and 2001. The most favourable weather conditions (high temperature and a lot of precipitations) were in 2000 but the best grain yield was attained in 2001 (8.84 t/ha on the average). There was a negative correlation between the grain yield and baking quality. The highest average yield (9.17 t/ha) but the worst baking quality was observed in the variety Semper, whereas the variety Sulamit showed the lowest yield (7.94 t/ha) and the best baking quality. Negative correlations were observed between grain yield and grain volume mass and between Zeleny test and protein content. Positive correlations were determined between loaf volume and Zeleny test and between loaf volume and protein content.
