The objective of this study was to evaluate and compare the growth ability of breeding bulls of two breeds, Aberdeen Angus (n=23) and Hereford (n=22). Body measurements and ultrasonics were used at 300, 330, 360, 390 and 420 days of age. The general linear model in SAS STAT 8.0 - GLM was used for data analysis. Significantly bigger physical proportions and also higher height and larger area of the MLLT were detected in Aberdeen Angus bulls in every measurement. Significant differences of subcutaneous fat thickness were detected at 360, 390 and 420 days of age. The differences between the two breeds were lower than expected because of the good feed quality.
