Two analytical methods, solid phase dynamic microextraction and automatic thermal desorption, were used to extract and concentrate sulphur volatile compounds from experimental solutions of different sulphur compounds with the aim of testing these two methods. Gas chromatography coupled with a flame detector was used to analyse the following volatile sulphur compounds: dimethyl sulfide, dimethyl disulfide, dimethyltrisulfide, carbon disulfide, ethyl sulfide, diethyl disulfide, methionol, 3-methylthiofen, ethylthioacetate, 2-methyl-1-buthanthiol.
