The effect of different plane of nutrition on productive parameters in sheep

Lambing ewes of the Improved Wallachian (n=54) and Tsigai (n=54) breeds were divided into three groups of 18 head each in order to study the effect of plane of nutrition on milk production and on subsequent lamb growth. The recording of milk production over the milking period as well as of total milk production from parturition to the end of lactation showed that the feed ration of 2nd group was optimum with respect to both milk output and total feed cost. Average daily weight gain of lambs until weaning also had good values for the two breeds of this group (0.270 kg and 0.275 kg).
