[Analysis of ear attraction and productivity components during development of self-fertile forms of diploid winter rye]
1999
Gordei, I.A. | Ponyatovskaya, L.I. (Genetics and Cytology Inst., Minsk (Belarus))
In changing diploid winter rye from crossbreeding to inbreeding (SF 0-20%) reduction in ear attraction and productivity is observed. With an increase in self-fertility, however, a rise in the values of the above-stated characters takes place. At selffertility above 50-60% the mean values of grain weight per ear and 1000-grain weight approach the initial ones and those for attraction and seed setting exceed them. An important role of attraction in increasing productivity of winter rye during change-over to the inbred method of reproduction was revealed
