Extracellular glucose oxidase (GO) of the fungus Penicillium adametzii LF F-2044 with molecular weight of its subunit 71 kDa and the absorption maxima at 277.5, 372.0-383.7 and 455.1-457.0 nm was purified by ultrafiltration. The enzyme contains 22.8-25.7% of a-helics, 15.0-15.9% antiparallel and 5.5-5.6% collateral b-frames, as well as 18.2-19.9% of b-flexures. The optimum of catalytic activity of GO was at pH 3-6 and temperatures up to 70oC. The oxidation of D-glucose by GO is characterized by an activation energy 5.92 kcal/mol and kinetic parameters KM=11.1-13.8 mM, kcat=(1.52-2.05)x105 c-1, kcat/KM=(1.10-1.85)x107 M-1xc-1. Cpecific activity of GO was (0.82-1.03)x105 IU/mg protein
