Dependence of organic matter losses on drainage time and organic matter differentiation depending on agricultural use are presented. Organic matter losses after 30 and more years of agricultural use come to about 2,2-2,5 t/ha* year-1 in case of cultivation of perennial grasses, 3-3,5 _ grain crops, 5 _ tilled crops and under crop rotation _ 3,5-4,5 t/ha* year-1. Obtained results can be used for the technical and economic assessment of reclamation activities and variants of agricultural use of old arable peat bogs if the technological process requires to take into account the losses of organic matter
