The materials of long-term investigations on soil water regime control in conditions of hill-and-depression relief are stated. The development designs and techniques for improving water regime on different elements of a relief, their influence on drainage operation and productivity of farm crops are presented. The use techniques for water regime control favored increase in the water reserves on hill slopes in limits of automorphic and temporarily overmoistened soils, intensification of excess water removal from depression situated between hills on the gley soils and drained gleyic soils having plain-and-depression contour. The expediency of improving water regime in closed lowlands by means of more economical procedures which support a surface runoff and possibility to cultivate has been exhibited
