Selection results and description of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) varieties included into State Registry of the Republic of Belarus were presented. Seed production technology in the original seed growing nurseries of Minsk region of Belarus was analysed. To increase potato yielding capacity in the conditions of high intensity of potato production branch the following complex of measures should be realized: application of plant growth substances containing the balanced complex of phytoregulators, biologically active substances, microelements which made it possible to regulate plant growth and development processes, effectively realize varieties and hybrids potential capabilities; application of biological plant growth stimulants to increase plant resistance to temperature and moisture stress, pesticides, diseases and pests. Research results of influence of plant growth regulators (Emistim C and Potejtin) application on potato tubers yields in the first tuber generation and in the nurseries of potato initial material increased the accumulation of dry matter in tubers. Starch content almost did not depended on application of plant growth regulators. Application of Potejtin lowered nitrates content in tubers and application of Emistim C caused the increased nitrates content in tubers. In course of three year (2004-2006) investigation the yielding capacity in the initial material nurseries varied from 20 up to 36 t/ha. The highest yield indices have shown the following varieties: Delfin, Rileya, Molli, Charodej, Skarb, Vetraz’, Zhuravinka. The highest starch content (18,3-21,8%) was stated in Suzorye, Vytok, Atlant and Dabytak varieties
