[Initial material for breeding of garden radish and daikon in the conditions of Belarus]

In the article data on studying of initial material for breeding of garden radish and daikon in the conditions of Belarus are cited. The recommendations on different variety use in the daikon, garden radish selection are given. Early ripening varieties of the garden radish with high productivity are allocated: Koroleva Margo, Feia, Variant, Alba, Kvarta. As a result of research it is established, that the best varieties of daikon were: Sasha, 6//92, the Agate radish, Miasige, Gint WR-Sakyrojima. Varieties with high marketability are allocated: 6//92, Agate radish, Dubinushka. Samples with the low accumulation of nitrates are allocated: Minovase, Dubinushka. The biochemical analysis of root crops collection material has shown, that samples Rozovyj Blesk, Pink shine Misato and Miasige were allocated under the dry matter content (from 9,0% to 10,9%) against (8,8%) at the standard. The best under the average long-term content of ascorbic acid allocate varieties Sasha (14,7 mg/100) and Gastsinets (7,8 mg/100)
