The process of formation and development of arable farming science in the Republic of Belarus since the twentieth century was analysed, its current achievements were described, the main problems of the innovative way of arable farming development on the basis of improvement of agricultural technologies of soil processing were presented, the importance of crop rotation, plant breeding and seed growing, plant protection and introduction of energy saving technologies was stated. The analysis of the approaches to the solution of the observed problems showed the perspectives of arable farming development in Belarus under modern economic conditions
