Hoengseangok (3x hybrid) was inoculated with MDMV-B at weekly intervals from 23 days after emergence (DAE) to 58 DAE to study the effect of inoculation stage on disease incidence, grain yield and dry weight of corn. The highest disease incidence and severity index was obtained in plants inoculated on 23 DAE. The index decreased gradually as the inoculation time delayed while the incubation period of the virus was shortened. It was concluded that the resistance to MDMV can be rated 24 days after inoculation at which maximum number of infected plants were observed among all inoculated stages
