Karyotypes of Korean spotted serpent head Channa argus (Cantor) were analyzed to obtain a basic information on the cytogenetics of this fish. Diploid chromosome numbers were found to be 48, of which 2 were submetacentric, 10 were submeta- or subtelocentric, and 26 were acro- or telocentric chromosomes without notably heteromorphic sex chromosomes
