New types of insect catcher for small insect collection and handling in laboratory and field

Two types of suction catcher were developed for collecting small size insects like planthoppers in laboratory and field. One of them was attached a DC motor operated by 4 cells of 1.5 volt battery, which lasted for at least 4 hours. The size of the suction catcher is 267g in weight and 7x7x6 cm in dimension. It is convenient for catching brown planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens), spiders and egg parasites in field. The other type is operated by AC power in laboratory. The size of machine is 300g in weight, and the dimension and using method is identical for the DC motor aspirator. It can be used only in laboratory
