Accumulation of unfolded proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum(ER) triggers the transcriptional induction of molecular chaperones and folding enzymes localized in the ER. Thus, eukaryotic cells possess and intracellular signaling pathway from the ER to the nucleus, called the unfolded protein response(UPR) pathway. To obtain genes related to UPR from Bombyx mori Bm5 cell, the cDNA library was constructed with mRNA isolated from Bm5 cell line in which N-glycosylation was inhibited by tunicamycin treatment(5§¶/ml).
