Soybean is a rich source of isoflavones such as genistein and daidzein. Soy isoflavones have both weak estrogen and anti-estrogenic effects and are structurally similar to tamoxifen, an agent that has an effect similar to that of estrogen in terms of reducing postmenopausal bone loss.
